Let the Cosmos Choose

At Joyface, there’s no cocktail menu. So you can either dip your hand into a bowl, pull out a keychain that reveals your preordained liquor, and let the barkeep concoct something one-of-a-kind. Or, ask for the Jade Retreat, a creamy dessert cocktail reminiscent of a matcha latte with a hint of the cardamom spice.

The idea was to make a matcha latte. Joyface bartender Olga Desyatnik, loves creamy dessert drinks and Tequila Dahlia's smooth sweetness, and she couldn’t think of a more perfect cocktail than The Jade Retreat.

“It should taste exactly like a matcha latte with a hint of cardamom spice and creamy almond on the finish,” Olga says.

Ingredients

1.5 oz. Tequila Dahlia

.5 oz. Licor 43 Horchata

.375 oz. Midori

.25 oz. Orgeat

4 Dashes Matcha Powder

2 Dashes Cardamom

Method

Shake with ice.

Serve over a single, large ice cube.
